Cochiti Pueblo potter Buffy Cordero, granddaughter of the famed Helen Cordero, created this charming figurine. It is a male figurine with a group of children and a dog sitting around listening to him tell stories. This style pottery figurine, with the children separate from the adult, has been named a Story Hour. Helen Cordero made the first one and Buffy, as well as other Cochiti potters, followed her lead.
The adult male wears a decorated shirt, long braided hair hanging down in front and traditional moccasins. He is signed Buffy Cordero Suina. Each of the five separate figures is signed Buffy. There are three seated boys and one reclining boy and a dog.
Condition: everything is in very good condition except a very minor chip on one boy’s toe.
