The bronze medallion was created in 1984 by Glenna Goodacre who was selected by the Denver Rotary Club Foundation as the artist of the year. The Denver Rotary Club Foundation sponsored the successful Artists of America show for twenty years from 1981 until 2000. Each year an artist was selected to produce a work of art for a medallion. These were used as fundraisers for the Foundation's charitable work. This medallion was the one created by Goodacre for the occasion of 1984.
The owner of this one chose to have it converted to a bolo tie, most likely the only Glenna Goodacre bronze bolo tie in the world. A clip for the bolo cord was glued onto the back side, so no damage occurred to the original bronze.
This is a rare opportunity for aficionados of bolo ties or anyone wanting the rare and unusual Glenna Goodacre bronze to own the unique Goodacre bronze sculpture. If desired, the bolo string could be removed, and the medallion could be worn as a pendant or displayed in that manner.
Condition: very good
Provenance: this Bronze Medallion Bolo Tie by Glenna Goodacre is from the estate of a retired medical doctor in Santa Fe who was the lucky owner (and probably creator) of this unique bolo tie.
