What a spectacularly beautiful three-chamber canteen that has the appearance of a late 19th century or very early 20th century vessel.  Although difficult to see the interior clearly, it appears that the clay is of a whitish color so we have determined that it is probably Acoma or Laguna by origin.  The large split-leaf petals on the three chambers are magnificent in their scale.  The canteen would not appear so impressive had the potter chosen designs of a smaller scale.

Condition:   there is a crack on the base of one of the end chambers but the vessel is sturdy and secure.

Provenance: from a gentleman in California
