Margaret Tafoya is best remembered for these elegant, tall, graceful bear paw jars. It is a signature piece of hers. This is a superb piece of hers.
This elegant jar was purchased in the 1950s and made into a lamp. We purchased it with all the lamp paraphernalia still attached. Upon removing the top metal plate, we found a very small chip at the rim. This could be repaired but we have not done so. Of course, there is a drill hole at the base for the electric cord.
These minor changes to the original jar that Margaret made do not detract from the beauty of the jar. Neither the chip nor the drill hole is significant.
