It is believed one of the first Diné (Navajo) to have worked with silver was Atsidi Chon around 1868 or 1869. In the years that followed, the Diné perfected the art of silversmithing using intricate stamp work to decorate and enhance the simple beauty of beesh ligaii (silver). This piece is a wonderful example of what has become known as distinctively Diné. This wide cuff has exquisite stamp work. The artist has used multiple small stamps to create a design that flows elegantly around the wrist. It is a wonderful piece to add to any collection.
