This is an extraordinary very large Santo Domingo dough bowl that follows the pueblo's traditions in every aspect of materials, construction and design. The main body is decorated in black vegetal paint over the cream-colored rag-wiped bentonite slip.

The design consists of very large sections of white undecorated area framed with a thin black outline that results in the illusion that the undecorated white areas are actually the decorated areas. A black rim and red underbody complete the design.

Provenance: Acquired in 1986 by Adobe Gallery from an Albuquerque household.
