Special Offer: The owner has requested we reduce the price of this extraordinary Cochiti Pueblo bowl by 30% from the original price of $3500 to $2450.

This marvelous large serving bowl was exquisitely decorated on the interior and exterior. On the interior, the artisan painted what appears to have been a bold central element in the base of the bowl. This part of the design has been obliterated over the years from continuous use of the bowl. Rain clouds are pendant from the interior framing line at the rim of the bowl.

The exterior also features rain clouds pendant from the framing line near the rim. Dark clouds appear frequently as well.

Both interior and exterior framing lines have ceremonial breaks that continue penetrating the design bands as well. A wide red band was wiped just below the lower framing lines on the exterior.

There are two sections of the rim that are broken off. Both are visible in the photographs. The extraordinary patina of this piece more than compensates for the small amount of damage. This bowl was certainly used for a number of decades before it left the pueblo.

Provenance: This Polychrome Cochiti Serving Bowl was shown in the exhibit BOWLS: A Pueblo Necessity December 15, 2006 until December 31, 2006 presented at adobe gallery Santa fe.
