This style round cluster pin is one favored by both Navajo and Pueblo women, particularly at Zuni Pueblo. It is sometimes difficult to tell if one was made by a Navajo or Pueblo smith. This one, however, is stamped with the initials LMB which Greg Schaaf identifies as Lura Moses Begay. One must remember that the Zuni Pueblo artisans learned silversmithing from the Navajo smiths so it is not unusual that there is similarity in some of the pieces.

This exquisite pin/pendant is comprised of four circles of beautiful blue/green turquoise encircling a single central stone. Each circle is divided by a ring of silver wire. The whole unit is backed by sheet silver.

The pen was purchased in Gallup, NM most likely in the 1960s. It is in original excellent condition.
