“ROOM WITH VIEW” [R]

This painting was juried a Top 100 Finalist for 2002 Art for the Parks Painting Competition and returned from touring the country for one year. This competition is sponsored by the National Park Academy of Arts whose mission, through the art contest, is to enhance the public awareness of our National Parks.

“While researching Chaco Culture National Historical Park I was fascinated by the craftsmanship of the stone structures and their placement to the sun. While painting the field studies for this piece I was intrigued by the endless design shapes created by the remaining structures. Light played a major part in my decision for this composition. I could only wonder what the people of Chaco were like.”
