Wow! This is one of the most beautiful black jars one could expect to see. It’s as round as a basketball and larger than one. The short collar neck adds balance and establishes direction. There are four bear paws depressed into the clay body. Virginia provided a superb sheen to the surface. It sparkles like a glass ball.

As a granddaughter of Sara Fina Tafoya and daughter of Margaret Tafoya, Virginia is certainly carrying on the tradition of making the finest large storage jars imaginable. This one deserves a place of honor in some collector’s home.
