Damacia Cordero, Cochiti Pueblo Potter
- Category: Storytellers
- Origin: Cochiti Pueblo, KO-TYIT
- Medium: Native Clay and Paints
- Size: 5" tall
- Item # 24940 SOLD
Damacia Cordero was a legend from Cochiti Pueblo. Her storyteller figurines and animal creations were unlike any other potter's work. This storyteller figurine, possibly a female, is smaller than male figures. The torso is shorter, ears smaller, nose less pointed, and face less flat that the males.
Touches of red paint are used for the nostrils of the children and for the belt tying the chonga hairstyle. A Cochiti pottery-type design decorates the back of the adult.
