It is always a pleasure and reassuring to see young potters emerge at a time when other modern distractions could interfere and offer a source of income that requires much less work than that of making pottery. I refer in this instance to Erlinda Pino of Zia Pueblo, a potter who has now been active for only a little over a decade.

It is obvious that she has mastered the techniques of forming a perfect vessel and applying painted decorations that are flawless. This jar is beautifully painted with traditional Zia Pueblo designs that were applied with perfection. It was completed in 1995, not too many years after she began making pottery. It is in original excellent condition.

Our congratulations to a potter from a new generation at Zia Pueblo who is certainly destined to be recognized as one of the finest at her craft.
