Every year on January 23rd, San Ildefonso Pueblo’s Feast Day, the members of the pueblo celebrate with dances in the plaza of the pueblo. On this day every year, they always perform a Plains Indian dance in tribute to their friends.
In this image, Romando Vigil, Tse Ye Mu from San Ildefonso Pueblo, has portrayed a male and female Kiowa couple dressed in full Plains regalia.
Tse Ye Mu’s work reflects simplicity and dignity of line and mass. His work is very neatly executed and his coloring is good.
Provenance:Original Painting "Kiowa Couple" was shown in the exhibit Early Pueblo Painters of New Mexico June 30, 2006 until July 30, 2006 presented at adobe gallery Santa fe.
