An original tempera painting of a Deer Dancer by Diego Herrera of Tesuque Pueblo. The two sticks in the dancer’s hands represent the forelegs of the deer. This young artist has captured the slow, methodical rhythm of the dance. Once can almost anticipate the next beat of the drum and movement of the legs and arms.
