“Working my way along my favorite route to Truchas this area is always a stop-and-see-what’s-happening, while looking West my timing is usually early or late in the afternoon. This day had an atmosphere, a certain light, that drew me to it. The clouds produced patterns of shadow across the rolling mesas which produced color upon color for miles. The longer you observed the cloud formation, endless paintings appear before you. The artist then has a choice of designing these abstract shapes into a finished piece.” ---Russ Tanner
