Large Globular Taos Pueblo Micaceous Jar [SOLD]

The previous owner of this magnificent large micaceous jar said that she and her husband purchased it years ago and at the time she knew the name of the Taos Pueblo potter from whom she purchased it but now she has forgotten. That’s a shame because the potter should receive due credit for such magnificent work.

The shape of the vessel is pure ecstasy. The walls are as thin as traditional Acoma pottery which is not the norm for Taos Pueblo. Mica flecks sparkle throughout the body of the jar and beautiful fire clouds are randomly displayed. The jar has a rounded bottom and rests in a support form. It is in original excellent condition.
