The tranquility of the evening is evident, in this painting, by the lack of activity. The two native residents pass by each other; probably acknowledge each other, and then move on to their respective tasks at hand. Snow covers the ground and the sky is quiet, not ablaze with the brilliance of typical New Mexico sunsets. The painting itself brings tranquility to the viewer.
The painting is framed, signed Shirpoyo and dated 2/10 in lower left.
PERSONAL NOTE: The paintings of Ed Jojola were a regular feature at the gallery until his son passed away a couple years ago, at which time he stopped painting for quite some time. This past December, his wife passed away and he has now decided it is best for him to continue the art career he loves. We are pleased to have more of his paintings in the gallery and we hope to have them on a regular basis.
