Early paintings, such as this one, by Beatien Yazz are colorful and rendered in the finest detail. The clothing of the hunter is beautifully rendered in brilliant colors. The sparse landscape of the Navajo reservation is well illustrated. Overall, this is a very well executed painting at a time that the artist was in the height of his career.
It is quite possible that Yazz painted this one at the same time as the bird hunter that we posted as Item #C2960F. The two paintings make a beautiful pair. They are matted and framed in an identical manner.
Condition: The painting is in original excellent condition.
Provenance: This painting is among a collection from the Balcomb family, formerly owners of an art gallery which they closed in 1976.
