Jeff is a son of Toni Roller and grandson of Margaret Tafoya. Jeff says that he started making clay figurines when he was 9 years old, and then progressed to making coiled pots. He uses all traditional materials and firing technique.
This bowl has a beautiful burnish and a deep black finish. The key design is deeply carved into the clay and is superbly executed. The underside is signed Jeff Roller Santa Clara 8-19-82. It is in original excellent condition.
