A dynamic form with a certain gestural sensibility and powerful presence. Slab formed in two sections with oxide-decorated interior of orange-red, with pierced rim and grass/straw embellishments. An intriguing early work from Dillingham\'s time at the University of New Mexico, with original price tag in the interior (25.00) and an original price tag at base (RD 3-14, $25.00). Excellent condition, signed Dillingham Feb 73.
A fascinating experimental form, with seemingly little connection to later and more famed works such as the shard pieces or gas cans, but the same adventurous, seeking, inquisitive, and vibrant mind is still at work, looking to perhaps find the primitive, raw elements in contemporary life.
