Dolores Lewis Garcia is a daughter of Lucy M. Lewis, and was taught the craft of pottery making by her mother. She says her ancient ancestors, the Anasazi, inspire her designs.
Dolores divided the design area into two sections—the neck design and body design. Around the neck, she placed double rows of rain clouds connected in chain-like fashion. On the main body, she placed four designs, each consisting of a double-bird motif—their heads connected by an orange square representing the body of each bird.
The vessel is signed Dolores Lewis Acoma, New Mexico, and is in very good condition.
