David Emmett Williams (1933-1985), known by his Kiowa/Tonkawa/Apache name Tos-que, meaning "Apache Man," was a significant artist from the Kiowa, Tonkawa, and Apache Tribes of Oklahoma. His artistic development was profoundly shaped during his time at Bacone College, where he studied under the distinguished art educator Richard West, a member of the Cheyenne Tribe. Under West's tutelage, Williams mastered the principles of painting composition and cultivated a dedication to artistic perfection.
