As a native of Isleta Pueblo, Jojola is intimately familiar with the changes occurring between winter and spring, night and day, and good and bad weather, usually with an amazing sky. He is able to capture these differences in such marvelous detail that an observer feels as if he or she is at the pueblo in person.

This late afternoon spring scene captures the coldness of the air and ground, and at the same time reflects the warmth and coziness of being inside one of the adobe buildings or wrapped in a pueblo blanket. This is a small, but very powerful painting.

PERSONAL NOTE: The paintings of Ed Jojola were a regular feature at the gallery until his son passed away a couple years ago, at which time he stopped painting for quite some time. This past December, his wife passed away and he has now decided it is best for him to continue the art career he loves. We are pleased to have more of his paintings in the gallery and we hope to have them on a regular basis.
