Kewa Pueblo Pair of Women’s White Moccasins [SOLD]

Pueblo women wear white buckskin moccasins with hard soles and soft deerskin uppers.  The soles are cut from rawhide or the tanned, thick, neck skin of the deer, which is exceptionally strong and heavy.  The white leggings are made from soft deerskin and attached to the moccasins and then wrapped around the woman's legs in overlapping rows until they reach just below the knee.

Condition:  the moccasins are in exceptional condition and evidence wear to the black soles demonstrating their use in dances.
