Diane Lewis Woman Southwest Indian Pottery Contemporary Acoma Pueblo signatureTalent indeed runs in families.  Diane Lewis is a sister to Rebecca Lucario, Marilyn Ray, Judy Lewis, and Carolyn Lewis, all of whom are outstanding potters from Acoma Pueblo.  Diane has easily demonstrated her talent in this exquisite polychrome seed jar.  It has four panels each of which features an animal or bird and the panels are surrounded by the most intricate fine line workmanship imaginable.

The design areas are rendered in beautiful soft earthy colors, all of which are natural materials.  One panel features a Mimbres-style bird eating fish, which are visible in his throat.  Another panel features a Mimbres-style antelope.  One features a traditional Acoma parrot, and the final panel has two lizards.
