This is one of the largest jars we have ever had by a member of the Nampeyo family. It is the first piece we have had by Clinton Polacca Nampeyo, who is the grandson of Fannie Nampeyo and great-grandson of Nampeyo of Hano. Clinton's dad was Harold Polacca and his mom was from the Pima tribe of Arizona.

I am not familiar with Clinton's work, but if this jar is any indication, he is a first class potter and painter. The jar is beautifully shaped with a high shoulder and slightly rolled out neck. The design is a traditional interpretation of the Sikyatki migration pattern made famous by being reinterpreted by his great grandmother. The design was painted on in very precise detail and care. The jar is truly spectacular.
