Harvest time in New Mexico Pueblos is characterized by the beautiful yellow foliage of the Cottonwoods lining the Rio Grande and the smell of green chile roasting. Red chiles are strung to dry in the sun and hung in “ristras” on the outside of the home. Isleta painter Ed Jojola has captured this time of year in this small watercolor.
The piece is framed by the artist and signed in the lower left-hand corner.
