This katsina was originally from the New Mexico Pueblos and was adopted by the Hopi a long time ago. He dances in Plaza Dances and is considered a Harvest Katsina, whose purpose is to aid in the growth of corn.
Provenance: From the estate of Transcendental artist Florence Pierce of Albuquerque who passed away in 2007 at the age of 89.
